SAIL has awarded mine development and operation (MDO) contract for its Tasra coal mine to a consortium of Power Mech Projects Ltd and PC Patel Infra Private Ltd. The contract is for 28 years which involves mining and transportation of coking coal along with setting up of a washery of 3.5 mnt capacity. The project has extractable reserves of 96.78 mnt.
